Plavac Tihe braće, Vinum levius

Description

Dry, full bodied wine, somewhat lighter than typical Plavac, harmonious and easy to drink. Aromas of plum and sour cherry, with slightly cooked notes, and overtones of griotte and smoke. Dark garnet colour.

Single varietal wine, made from the grapes from our own vineyard. Sandy soil and 12 year old vine. Handpicked. Five days of maceration and one year of maturation in oak barriques (mixture of old and new ones). Additional maturation in stainless steel tanks and bottles.
We designated it as „levius” (latin for „lighter, swifter, more agile”) in order to accentuate its somewhat atypical varietal structure, as a counterpart to the full structure of our 2019 vintage. It is worth noticing, however, that with aging it is reverting more and more towards type.
