Winery

Our winery is a family undertaking – our ownership and our labour. We produced our first wine in 2007, and drank that small quantity by ourselves and together with our friends and relatives. However, already in 2008 the older part of the vineyard allowed us to produce the wine that we could market, and no later than 2010 the Plavac was classified under the highest category of the Croatian Protected Designation of Origin system.

Now, when our vineyard of Plavac mali has reached its full maturity, each new harvest makes us happier. You will have to take our word for it for at least a couple more years, but if you like our wines now, we can humbly tell you that the coming vintages, hidden in our cellar for the moment, are slowly maturing into something very, very nice.

Since 2016, we have been buying Vugava and Kuč grapes from trusted vignerons, and we have also planted a new, slowly maturing vineyard of those varieties. We are still in the process of learning how to make best of them, but all the happy gourmets coming in from the local restaurants to buy our Vugava wine tell us that we have already learned a thing or two.

Depending on the year and ever more unstable climate, each year we produce 40 to 60 hectolitres of Plavac, similar quantity of Vugava and about 10 to 15 hectolitres of Kuč.

We have recently expanded our old, cramped winery, so now we have at our disposal a comfortable 600 square metres in which the wine is processed, matured, bottled, stored and packaged and – of course – tasted and sold!
