FAQ

Generally

Can we visit the winery?

Yes! But – since we are a small, family run enterprise busy with our primary task of producing the wine, there are some limitations. Certain types of visits are possible only by appointment, while others are possible freely, at any time during the opening hours.

There is a fine line between the two, but essentially: if your primary interest is in touring the winery and just sampling our wines, maybe spending some time learning about our work, chatting with the winemaker, etc., than an appointment is necessary. If, however, your primary interest is in buying (which, naturally, also includes the tasting) some wine, you can come without an appointment. But even then, we recommend that you announce your visit, so that it wouldn’t happen that we are somewhere else at that time.

Is it easy to find you?

Vis is a small island, so the road isn’t too long, nor too winding. See our „Contact” page for the map. There is a gravel track leading off the main road, halfway between the restaurant on the other side and the road leading to Stončica. It is marked by a sign with our name. The track is a bit rough, but it is passable by car without any problem. Our winery is the only building to which this track leads to.

Why is there a minimum number of bottles for an order?

The special box for the safe delivery of wines is dimensioned for six bottles*, and the delivery service charges the shipping fee according to the size of the package, so the smaller number of bottles doesnt make for cheaper shipping. If you would, however, still like to order a number of bottles that is not a multiple of six, contact us through our e-mail.

* – there are boxes for a smaller number of bottles, however the shipping price for those smaller packages is not appreciably lower, so we’ve decided to use only one size

Do you ship your wine outside of Croatia?

The delivery service we are using ships everywhere within the EU. If you are living outside of the EU, e-mail us, and we will see if there are any reasonable possibilities.

Will the ordered wine arrive safely and in one piece?

We hope so. The wine is packaged in special boxes which, according to the producers, are completely safe. However, there is always a risk, so check the received package and complain to the delivery service if there is damage. Contact us as well.

What are the shipping costs?

The prices have been defined by the delivery service. The delivery service treats each box of wine as a separate package, so ordering more boxes does not, unfortunately, mean more favourable shipping price. It is just a multiple of the shipping cost for one package.

The shipping cost is computed automatically in the shopping cart. For your information, the price for one six-bottle package is currently:

  • 7€ for Croatia*
  • 19€ for Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and Czech Republic
  • 21€ for Poland, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg
  • 33€ for Romania, Italy, Bulgaria, Denmark and Ireland
  • 43€ for Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Greece, Finland and France
  • 56€ for Spain, Portugal, Malta and Cyprus.

* – for certain Croatian islands, the delivery service charges an additional fee of 6,64€; the shipping calculator includes that fee where applicable; for your information you can see here which zipcodes fall under this obligation

How long does the delivery take?

Not too long, we hope. The delivery service gives the duration of two to seven days, depending on the country. However, Vis being a relatively distant and smaller island means that packages leave the island only every couple of days. So, roughly, it is somewhere around three days if you are in a nearby country, and closer to ten if you are in a distant one. And anything inbetween.
